About Us
Centre for Social Action Trust
We aim to promote inclusion, equal rights, and access to essential services for persons with disabilities, helping them lead dignified and independent lives.
Centre for Social Action (CSA) Trust is a non-governmental, voluntary organization committed to supporting persons with disabilities and empowering disadvantaged communities. Registered as a Public Charitable Trust on 3rd January 1993 under the Societies Registration Act (Reg. No. IV 1367/1992-93, Bangalore), CSA Trust is also recognized under Section 52 of the Persons with Disabilities Act, 1995.
The Trust was founded by Smt. Helen Mary Amitha, an educationist by profession, whose vision and compassion laid the foundation for the organization’s mission. Dr. George Joseph, the Chief Functionary and Secretary of CSA Trust, has been involved since its inception. With over 45 years of experience in the development sector—especially in youth animation, and rural and tribal community development—he has contributed immensely to the growth of the organization. He previously worked with YCS/YSM and the Karnataka Regional Youth Commission.
The journey of CSA Trust is deeply connected to the lives and shared commitment of both Smt. Amitha and Dr. George. Coming from different backgrounds and beliefs, they have worked together to bring meaningful change in the lives of marginalized communities, particularly women and children.
Since 2012, the Trust has also been actively providing services under the Persons with Disabilities Act across the district. Through education, rehabilitation, community programs, and inclusion efforts, we strive to build a society where women, children, and persons with disabilities live with dignity, hope, and happiness.
